What Counts As Gown Hire Wear & Tear?

One thing is for sure, there’s no need to let any nerves around your gown or academic dress spoil your day. We’ll be on-site at the ceremony to dress you and support you in looking your best. Our team will dress you and ensure you are wearing each and every part of the outfit correctly. 

Upon the ceremony close you’ll need to return your academic attire back to us the very same day. Just find us at the returns location after the ceremony, we’ll let you know where this will be located when you initially collect your graduation robe from us. 

Extended Graduation Gown Hire 

If you’d like to extend the hire of your graduation gown, we’re very happy to offer you this option. Extended hire extends to a week, we’ll provide you with a returns bag and the returns address. 

On The Day Damage 

Minor Wear and Tear 

Any minor gown wear and tear along with any small cleanable stains are nothing to worry about and will not incur any additional charges. 

What do we mean by wear and tear? 

• Small tears, snags and rips - these can simply occur by accident and need not cause any stress nothing to worry about and can easily be fixed 

• Stains - as your gowns are dark in colour its unlikely any stains will be greatly visible, the material and colour is very forgiving when it comes to stains

• Loose threads and buttons - might need to be fixed as quickly as possible to ensure the integrity of the outfit and fit. If you notice a dropped thread or button come and find us where you originally collected your gown and we’ll provide you with a replacement 

Any significant on the day or beyond (extended hire) graduation gown damage should be reported to us at the earliest. 

Something wrong? 

If you experience any small wardrobe malfunctions or something doesn't feel right with your hood, cap or gown we’ll be on-site before and after the ceremony.  Should something need adjusting or re-fitting please do come back to us and we’ll do our very best to fix it.

1. Make sure to hang your gown in between wears to prevent excessive creasing and hang away from direct sunlight as to protect the colours.

2. Please do not use any harsh chemicals around the gown, if you happen to notice a stain, try dabbing it with water or contact us for more support
